The Auxiliary holds three meetings each year - Officer's Board meeting; an Annual Meeting for all the ladies (members or not); and an Executive Meeting with the Board to elect the officers and directors for the following year.

Auxillary raffles are a primary source of fundraising for the group. At the annual DESA convention, the "Pot of Gold" raffle is held. A cash prize is awarded to the winners. Other raffles and fundraisers allow the Auxiliary to donate money to various organizations including DESA, DEHM and USS Slater DE 766.  Also, Auxiliary members nominate the VA Hospital in their area and four hospitals are selected by drawing. Each of the four hospitals receive a donation to be used for the needs of their Veterans.

At the annual DESA convention, the Auxiliary operates a Ladies' Ship's Store that offers DE related merchandise as well as other great gift items and crafts. Also, a luncheon is hosted during the convention.

Another project of the Auxiliary is remembering the sick and families of deceased Auxiliary and DESA members with a thoughtful card.
