"They are standing on left or port side of the ship looking towards the bow. On the right, a shipmate is standing in the door hatch that led all the way across to the other side of the ship. When you went through this door, in the center there were two ladders to the right leading down to the crew's bunks, where I slept. In the center to the left is where the crew toilets and showers were located.

The hose hanging on the bulkhead was used when we refueled at sea. In the background, left, hangs a life raft."
